The Resident Edinburgh

We traveled from Istanbul, Turkey for our vacation, and for me cleanliness is one of the most important criteria when choosing a hotel. If I don’t feel that a place is truly clean, I simply can’t relax, and it negatively affects my entire holiday. That’s why I paid special attention to this while researching where to stay. We stayed at this hotel between February 14–17, 2026, and I’m very happy to say that it exceeded my expectations. Even though there was no kitchen, the service was complete and very well thought out. Everything we needed was provided. Additionally, there was complimentary alcohol service every day between 5:00 and 6:00 PM, which was such a lovely touch. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Most importantly, the room was very clean, well-organized, and comfortable. The location was also perfect — everything was within walking distance, and we didn’t need to use public transportation at all. We stayed for three nights and were extremely satisfied with our experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who values cleanliness and warm hospitality.

I honestly can't praise this hotel highly enough. The room was spotless, the staff were welcoming and the discount off local bars and restaurants was great. Location was handy - close enough to everything but far enough away to be nice and quiet. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone.

We spent my birthday weekend at The Resident recently. What a great hotel! They had made a little card for my birthday which was a lovely touch, as was the free evening drink! Something we really noticed was just how attentive and friendly every single staff member was, which makes a huge difference for me when choosing a place to stay/somewhere I would return to. I would recommend this hotel to anyone- it's in a good location in the West End and staff provide some lovely recommendations in the local area. Thank you for such an amazing stay!

From the very first moment I stepped into the hotel, everything was simply perfect. The staff went above and beyond to make sure every detail of my stay was taken care of. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. The rooms were spotless and offered an amazing view of the city skyline. The location is excellent — very central, yet just outside the busy tourist areas, which made it even better. It’s well connected to all parts of the city, and just around the corner you can enjoy a lovely stroll through Dean Village. I truly enjoyed my stay and would give it 6 stars if I could! A special shout-out to the wonderful staff, especially Ed, Elliot, and Jasmin — thank you for making my visit so memorable. I can’t wait to come back

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Resident for a few nights during our trip to Edinburgh. We have to say we really loved the hotel. The service from the staff was absolutely fantastic, and they were always extremely helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel, was good, its located in the west end just outside Deans Village and within easy walking distance of the city centre. Theres lots of restaurants and cafes within a few minutes walk. The rooms were well equipped and very clean and tidy. The bathroom was superb. the hotel doesn't serve breakfast but each room is equipped with a kitchenette to able to prepare some basic food for yourself. Would happily stay again!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff were all lovely, the hotel and our room was absolutely spotless and the room was cleaned whilst we were out every day. Location was really my good and about a 10/15 min walk from all of the main parts but lots of things very close to the hotel too. Bed was really comfy and the hotel was really quiet. We would definitely stay again.

Absolutely lovely stay at The Resident. My partner and I had booked an Airbnb initially and had to find somewhere last minute and we are so glad we stayed here. Danielle checked us in and was brilliant our whole stay - she gave the best service (with recommendations for food which were amazing) and really was a breath of fresh air after our Airbnb booking. The room was great and the drink between 5-6pm was a great touch. The location is very walkable to everything too. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Fantastic hotel located in a perfect spot. Room was clean and spotless with excellent amenities. Bed was comfortable and slept well. Cannot fault the service at all. Staff were very attentive, welcoming and lovely to talk to. Special thank you to the reception team who sorted the postage of my partners keys which were left in our room after leaving. You guys are the best . We will definitely be back in the future.
